Pharmaceutics, process engineering, continuous crystallisation, continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing, process modelling, nanomaterials, and membrane separation.
Saeed Shirazian obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2015. He joined the Bernal Institute as a post-doctoral researcher in Pharmaceutical Engineering in 2015, currently, he is a Principal Investigator working on the development of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing of solid dosage oral formulations, funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). He is the recipient of an SFI Starting Investigator Research Grant (SIRG).
Saeed has authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, has 5000 citations, and a h-index of 36. His research has been recognised through various national and international awards including SIRG, IRC New Foundations, Best PhD student, and Khwarizmi Youth Award. He was awarded Young Leader of the Year at the Irish Laboratory Awards 2020. He lectures in Process Engineering at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Limerick.
