Edel Durack

Edel is an Instrument Scientist at the Bernal Institute.   She completed both her BSc (Food Science & Technology) and PhD (Microbiology) at the University of Limerick. Since graduating, Edel has worked in the areas of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, drug delivery and bioprocessing. Edel was instrumental in setting up the Bernal Biolabs in early 2017 and her current role within the Bernal Institute will see her managing the activities and instruments within the Biolabs which include supporting vital research and collaborating with industrial partners. These instruments include a number of Bioreactors for bacterial and mammalian cell fermentations, suite of AKTA chromatography systems for purification of biomolecules and a range of analytical instruments including MALDI-TOF MS/MS.
