Bernal Institute researchers Dr Mehakpreet Singh and Dr Ibrahim Saana Aminu have been awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Fellowships

Mehakpreet Singh is a Mathematician with a doctorate degree in Mathematics from Indian institute of Technology Kharagpur. His research includes both ‘Mathematical modelling of particulate processes for pharmaceutical drug manufacturing’ and ‘Numerical solutions of integro-partial differential equations’.  Mehakpreet supervisors are Prof.  Gavin Walker and Dr Ahmad B. Albadarin

Ibrahim Saana Aminu’s project will focus on the development of novel porous graphite cathodes with chemically tuneable-architecture (surface morphology, pore-hierarchy, rigidity and conductivity) for advanced rechargeable aluminium-ion batteries (AlBs). The key challenges hampering the progress of AlBs will be addressed at the interface of Materials Science and Electrochemistry, and establish a better understanding of the battery chemistry with the view of device-relevant design. His project is titled; “Novel porous graphite as cathodes for advanced aluminium-ion batteries“and his supervisor is Prof. Kevin M Ryan.
